Music with Joanne Trewick is a vibrant studio offering individual music lessons tailored to personal learning requirements and interests. Exam, competition and audition preparation is available for students wishing to take this path. All ages and levels of experience are welcome, from beginners through to players seeking to advance their established skills. 

Students from our studio have enjoyed great success in recent years at the Cairns and District Junior Eisteddfod, in Australian Music Examination Board, Trinity College of London and Con Brio instrumental and theory examinations. Many past students have gone onto become professional musicians, community musicians or music teachers themselves and my goal is that every student becomes a life long musician in any way that is meaningful to them. Learning programs are very individualised as no two students have the same goals, aspirations or learning styles. Many performance opportunities are offered throughout the year to encourage all students to find the satisfaction and confidence that comes from sharing their music with others.

I have been teaching music for over 25 years, having had the opportunity as a teen, to be mentored under some amazing senior teachers while still studying myself. Now into my 40s with a busy family of five children - it is still my favourite thing to do! The energy that comes into my music room with each student, excited to show me what they have accomplished during the week is palpable and brings me much joy.
