POLICIES

** Music lessons, whether individual or classes are are a full term commitment. Notice of non-continuance in the next term must be given prior to the end of the current term.

** There will be no refunds or credits for cessation of lessons during a term or for any missed lessons, even for other music or school activities. The fees are set to cover the costs of providing the music program to your child throughout the year and must be paid in full. In the unlikely event that the Miss Joanne is unavailable for a lesson, a credit will be applied to the next month’s invoice.

** Parents will have any costs for resources that their child personally needs added to their monthly invoice. Most commonly these will include music books (we abide by copyright laws) subscriptions for online learning platforms, exam or competition fees. The term resource fee for instrumental students ($18 or $28 for families) contributes to the cost of maintaining a library of teaching resources that benefit all our students.

** Fees vary depending which classes your child is enrolled in but start at $26 for 30 minute classes. Private tuition is charged at $78 per hour. Please enquire for prices of classes or lessons that will suit your student’s needs. There is a registration fee ($22) for new enrolments which contributes a little to the cost of the provided practice diary and the first semester challenge awards. Term resource fee is not payable in first term of enrolment. The fees are billed monthly by email, payable by bank transfer, PayPal or cash in a clearly marked envelope. Invoices are due within 14 days, please respect this deadline and be in contact if you need extra time to pay, chasing of late payment is uncomfortable for all parties and will mean your child is removed from the music schedule until payments are up to date.

** A tuned and working instrument is required at home for daily practice and playing. It is important that you seek advice about requirements before purchasing any instruments.

** Time and support for home practice is vital to achieving significant progress. Please communicate with Joanne as to what is most beneficial for your child and family schedule. Your child will be provided with a personalised music notebook for instrumental lessons, parents are asked to assist the child in referring to this practice diary daily to guide home tasks and mark off goals.
